Bl. Kateri TekakwithaToday, July 14th, is the feast day for Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha.  Blessed Kateri Teckakwitha is the first Native American to be declared a Blessed.

Kateri was born near the town of Auriesville, New York, in the year 1656, the daughter of a Mohawk warrior. She was four years old when her mother died of smallpox. The disease also attacked Kateri and transfigured her face. She was adopted by her two aunts and an uncle. Kateri became converted as a teenager. She was baptized at the age of twenty and incurred the great hostility of her tribe. Although she had to suffer greatly for her Faith, she remained firm in it. Kateri .........

Rosaries for your car

We all need prayer in all situations.  And with so many accidents, injuries and deaths caused by driving carelessly, having a rosary in your car is a great way to pray for protection and safety on the road.  Below are some prays to pray as you travel throughout the day.

God our Father, be with us now as we travel.  Be our safety every mile of the way.  Make us attentive, cautious and concerned about our fellow travelers.  Make our highways safe and keep us from all danger.  Guide us to our destination for today, and may it bring us one day closer to our final destination with you.  We pray this in Jesus' name.  Amen.  Sacred Heart Auto League

The Catholic faith is filled with so many wonderful beliefs!  And we can remember some of those Catholic beliefs by usng Catholic rosary beads with various colors that represent our faith.

Each bead color of the rosary has a special meaning and corresponding Bible verse:

Purple:  (Original Sin)

For all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23

Red:  (Redemption by Jesus)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life.  – John 3:16

White:  (Forgiveness)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from ...
